I love a good band discovery. Folks, check out @themantras , out of North Carolina. . I actually first saw them last weekend at Bears Picnic #musicfestival that @escapermusic also played. I caught their late night set and was impressed by their ability to groove, jam and conjure... coincidentally I found myself at the @phish show in Raleigh, NC last night and they were playing a post show downtown. Mixing in a Beastie Boys tribute into their set, no less. It was a perfect icing to the Phish cake I had just come from. Yes, Phish cakes can have icing? Funky, groovy, spiritual, go get it bad assery. My type of shizz.
