and if we’re talking weight. skinny shaming exists no doubt about it but the majority of skinny people think that feeling bad about your body and being susceptible to internalized body shame can be cured with “standing in the mirror and hugging myself” body acceptance. some people don’t realise body acceptance is more than “ok i look like this and i’m fine with it <3”. this is literally the 10% of the work you have to do if you’re fat. coming to terms with the fact that people see you as less than is impossible to deal with and that’s why it’s so hard not to succumb to your internal shame and hatred. and even if some people don’t see you as less than you can’t help but see everything through this warped lense of ‘everybody hates me’ and sooner or later this delusion is fulfilled in the form of a random interaction or a fatphobic comment and then there’s no going back
