i just saw another trumblr post including a picture that had alt text. how does that work? I always add it in the posty brib cross-posting application and it never shows up on my finished posts and i can't see a way to edit it in later over here either. i remember finding a way to add it in the past, and then NOT being able to find it again.

Do you have any tips for postybirb? I downloaded it hoping to use it for tumblr and bsky but the tutorials they have aren’t up to date for the latest version so I don’t know how to post my art. Thanks!

hey, sorry this is late--i just moved into a new place, and the last week or so has been very hectic!

to get started with postybirb (i'm on 3.1.60) the first thing you want to do is click "accounts" and start logging into the accounts you want to use. some will just be logins, using postybirb as a browser, while others will ask for app access tokens (dA i think is one of the latter). once those accounts are logged in, the headers will turn green and they'll be moved to the bottom of the list.

some logins will time out periodically, and you'll need to re-login occasionally. not too difficult

when it's time to post a submission, click "Submissions" > "File" and either double click to open the browser or just drag your image in. this will add the image to a list below the upload box

The red ! symbol is letting you know you need to add some information before it can be posted to one of your sites. Click on Edit in this list to open the submission proper.

Now you fill in your information--title, rating, tags, description. Same as you would posting to tumblr or dA normally. Rating is necessary, and so is a website to post to (haha).

click on the Websites box beneath the description, and a list of all your currently active accounts will pop up. click on the boxes to enable them

Once you've done this, the account will be added to a list below the Websites box. Postybirb will warn you if you need to change any information on a site by site basis. For tumblr and dA, you shouldn't need to change anything.

Once everything's set up, you can click "Post" to send it live right away, or "Save and Close" to save the post to post later.

Save and Close is the option you want to use if you want to queue posts, much like the tumblr scheduling option.

Click on the text that says "unscheduled" and pick a date and time, save it, then the "Schedule" option will become clickable and you can add the piece to your queue.

And i think that might be all the basics you need to know to start using the program! let me know if you have any other questions
