FINALLY got another chapter out! Yay! Sorry it took me so long.

Jack’s prayers to Poseidon are finally answered. Sarah wins a long standing dispute with Jack regarding spiritual matters.

HiyoKIri Winning a prize out the claw machine / at a festival

Outside tennis, there were actually a lot of things Kirihara was fairly well coordinated with. Video games, other sports, simple games… However, Kirihara had never managed to win a stuffed animal from a prize machine. Once at the school’s Cultural Festival, Yanagi had won a cute stuffed dog for Kirihara. This made him ecstatic, even though he had not won it himself. 

So, when Kirihara and his (newly acquired) boyfriend Hiyoshi visited a summer festival, Kirihara decided he would finally win one himself and give it to Hiyoshi as a present.

He asked Hiyoshi to stop by the arcade. (Well, not so much asked as pulled along without waiting for Hiyoshi’s response.)

Kirihara got right down to business. He popped in a coin and started trying to go for a particularly cute plushy of Toad from Mario. A mushroom character. Perfect for Hiyoshi!

“Come on… come ooon..” He muttered as the claw closed around the small toy, picking it up and starting to move. The boy’s eyes grew wide as it drew near the prize hole. The boy stamped his foot with a yelp as it approached, showing no sign of possibly falling.

But, of course, the toy dropped with the stamping off his foot.

The boy’s arms flung up into the air with a loud burst of moderately loud cursing. It was so close too!!

After about twenty minutes of trying, Kirihara had given up on trying to win the Toad or any other toy from the other machines. And he was out of money (that Hiyoshi had given him).

Shoulders slumped in disappointment, Kirihara turned to look for his boyfriend. His eyes nearly popped out of their sockets at what he saw. There was Hiyoshi, caring an armful of various plush toys, a basket ball and one of those iPhone’s that were IMPOSSIBLE to get.

Kirihara bolted up to him. “H-How… Hiyo– what?? HUH?” He sputtered around in confusion. How was it possible to even get some of these!?

Hiyoshi ignorantly looked at his boyfriend. “You can have one if you want.”

“No– I, well…”

He sighed.

“I was trying to get something for you…”

The brunette looked pleasantly surprised and gave a light smile.

“Hold these.” He said, handing his armful of goods out to his befuddled boyfriend.

“Which one did you want?”

Kirihara reluctantly meandered over to the machine and pointed at the little Toad plush toy.

Hiyoshi’s eye twitched at the choice, knowing exactly why Kirihara wanted it for him. Still, he stood before the machine and popped in a coin. With great precision, Hiyoshi moved the claw perfectly to grasp the Toad and bring it to the drop hole.

“Wow…” Kirihara breathed as he watched. Hiyoshi made it look easy… artful, in fact. How could you be so good at something like this…?

Pulling it out of the bottom slot, Hiyoshi handed the Toad to Kirihara.

“I know you wanted me to have it but… look at it this way. When I’m not with you, you’ll have a mushroom head of your own in my place.”

Kirihara’s face lit up in an ear-to-ear grin and squished his boyfriend in a plushie filled hug.
