This is primarily a Role Play blog. Me, the 'mun' behind the character, I'm a mostly woman of older years trying to write and publish novels. The 'muse' or character that I portray, is Soleil, a published author of some French and Irish ancestry, and a bit of angel ancestry.

I play mostly with a Jack Sparrow who has time traveled to the current year with his ship and a few friends. We smuggle information, goods, plants, and medication of varying degrees of legality to those in need.

One time when I was a kid a group of girls and I had to treat another student for hypothermia by ourselves because she had so many invisible health issues that the adults we asked for help didn't believe us. The student in question was actively hallucinating. When I finally ran for help the people I grabbed were slow as shit to respond, casually joking about how "dramatic" the person in question was.

The kid was picked up by an ambulance 30 minutes later.

Now as an adult working in security I get SO MANY folks- upper-middle aged mostly- coming to me to 'rat out' people they think are faking it.

I was once sent into a bathroom because a client demanded that the "fucker won't get out, so go drag them out"- I was NEVER going to do that, so I did a wellness check instead. You know who it was? A person recently released from the hospital after a car accident. They had a hole in their skull and major hearing loss. They couldn't answer the owner because they couldn't HEAR the owner.

Another time about a homeless man who got around town by kicking the ground from his wheelchair. "You know he doesn't actually need that thing, his legs work fine, it's just for pity points"- Oh, so he's not paralyzed, his wheelchair is performative? Funny story Dale, I actually know that guy, he was backed over by a truck and has chronic pain from his shattered pelvis. But sure, let's make him stand up and walk everywhere so nobody feels too bad for him and tries to help him or something.

"She doesn't need that scooter, I've seen her get out of it."

"Look how fat he is, because he just rides around and refuses to get up."

"She doesn't really need that cane- she comes here without it all the time"

"Do you want to take me home, orrrr? Shall I catch a plane?" She chuckled.

"Nice to see you too! Err well. Actually. 'You look terrible and the decor is disgusting!'" Soleil rolled their eyes and slowly, non threateningly pulled out a bottle of The Lord's preferred alcohol

*They saw the human taking out the bottle, and wore an expression that was meant to be approving (well, actually, they didn't really mean it to be anything.) but read the same as their usual one.*

She scooted closer, slowly. "I don't think ANYONE could get USED to Hell. But I suppose YOU like it, at least a little. Do you have any glasses? Or do you just want to share?"

If you liked it we wouldn't be doing our jobzzz.

*They snapped their finger, two glasses appearing on the table - one was ornate, crystal, with fly motifs and runes all over it. The other was a plastic cup, the kind one might find abandoned in a park after a tea time amongst five year olds. Obviously, they pushed the latter toward the other.*

Hiding a grin, Soleil sat down in a chair that mysteriously appeared. She didn't object to the plastic Solo cup. Having Jack Sparrow as a lover causes one to be accustomed to bizarre circumstances after all. She'd shared the same bottle, bowl, and cup with him.

At least Lord Beelzebub had offered a vessel.

"How have things been?"

*Ignoring the fact that the bottle Soleil had brought was a liquor - meant to be savoured in small quantities - they filled their glass with it, drinking it like one would water.*

Horrible, of courzze. Can't have anything lezz.

"Oh surely, surely" Soleil nodded. They drank in silence for a few moments.

Then, reaching over to politely refill Beez' glass, "Do you ever get bored? How often do you...get away from it all?"

Juzzt becauze I'm a lord it doezzn't mean I don't alzzo handle more practical partz of the job.

*They let her fill it to the very brim, then took another sip, one small drop spilling in the process.*

Temptationzz are a good pazztime. Torture, murder, occazional tripz to Earth to eat. I work enough that I don't have the time to be bored, unlezz I'm zztuck in zzome long pointlezz meeting.

"Temptations ARE fun, aren't they!?" The little angel smirked and tossed back the last of their drunk. Then she reached for the bottle for seconds.

"Wait. You go to Earth? To eat? What's your favorite thing to eat?"

They can work to releazzze fruzztration.

*They also finished their (second, granted incredibly abbundant) drink, putting the glass down towards the angel to let her pour more for them as well.*

Of courze I do. I am gluttony. I don't have a favourite thing.

"Noooo?" She said in a long drawn out drawl. "I bet I could take you someplace that has such disgusting food, even you wouldn't want to eat it."

Worzze than rotting carcazzez? I think you're underezztimating what Gluttony meanz. I don't eat, I conzzume. Alcohol, food, zzoulz.

Can you explain the difference between eating and consuming? For me they are largely the same?

Let'z put it like thizz - if I don't eat it won't kill me, but my inzzidez will zztart conzuming themzelvez and it will be quite painful. The matter I eat izn't actually procezzed into anything. It juzzt izn't anymore.

"Hmmm," said the littlest angel. "Alright. Let's just go up to Earth and ....and we'll see if you hate tripe more than sheep head or pigs entrails." AND you can observe first hand, humans being glutinous. Think of it as field work!"

While I would certainly go for a meal or ten, I do not have the time to juzzt leave Hell whenever. If it may zatfzfy your curiozity, I've eaten all of the thingzz you've mentioned before.

They leaned forward. "You can do what you want."

*They let out a laugh, throwing their head back before leaning forward on the desk.*

I do what I have to do, what I need to do. If I really did only what I wanted thizz place wouldn't exizzt anymore. The guardzz weren't even competent enough to zztop you before ya got here and you think I can alwayzz juzt kick my feet back?

Soleil leaned forward as well. "I bamboozled the guards. Showed them my wings! And King Abby protects me. When's the last time you I'm eft Hell anyway?"

She actually clapped her hands in delight and leaped up. "Eh..I can't imagine that lots of people try to get IN to Hell. Are they good at stopping people from actually leaving?"

"After you," she politely swept an arm towards the door.

After pressing the button with a bit more force than one would need for a normal working one, and waiting some time, the doors opened to reveal the small space with flickering lights, which they stepped into.*

She followed Beez into the cramped, dingy elevator. "Where on Earth do you want to start?"

Soleil didn't expect Beelzebub to understand that quote. "And I'm not trying specifically to get into Hell, I'm trying to see YOU."

The Elevator stopped and the doors opened. The noise of loud Latin music and many people having conversations blasted their ears

Just then a slim shirtless Latino pressed against their side and wrapped his arm around their waist. "Oye, chica, ven a bailar conmigo!"

Sol felt immediate irritation but masked it well. "Claro. ¿Sabes bailar el cancán? O mejor aún, el vals."

He let go of her and walked off, yelling "Chica loca!"

*They raised their eyebrows, a bit confused and perplexed at the conversation, but far more interested in passively influencing a random passerby to think that maybe one drink could not hurt, which would lead to him getting drunk to the point of almost passing out. Passive temptation was a thing they had mastered to the point of it almost being an art - everyone around them always wanted more.*

The problem with being a good looking woman was that men (and some women) always wanted to flirt. The problem with being a little bit of an angel, was that people wanted to confess.

Just then, a woman with a drunk in each hand stumbled up to her and said, "I'm drunk! And I'm a recovering alcoholic of ten years!"

Soleil looked at Beelzebub. She jerked her head to the dance floor, thinking it might be a good escape

*a man nearby suddenly remembered he had something incredibly important to do, perhaps that he'd forgotten to walk his pet fish, and stumbled out of the stool nearest to Beelzebub, on which they promptly took his place before ordering a drink.*

No point nor fun in it azz far az I'm concerned.

"I didn't expect you to DANCE," they hissed, leaning against the bar top. The man next to them looked the two of them up and down. Soleil ignored him and signalled the bartender. "Can I get a strawberry daiquiri, sugar on the rim?"

To Beelzebub they continued, "I thought you'd like to see the gambling tables."

That'zz more of Mammon'z buzinezz.

*One of the legs on the stool the man was sitting on suddenly gave out from under him, making him fall, curse, and hurry to the restroom to attempt to wash the drink he'd spilled on himself off.*

"Really?" Sol glanced in that direction before deciding to fix the bar stool and sat next to Beelzebub. "Then I will sit here with you and drink until you're ready for your meal. Which is in Iceland."

*The bartender handed them a bottle without being asked, which they took a swig from.*

Whenever. If you don't want the bother I could pick zzomeone off and make a dinner out of them.

Oh I want the bother. I have a morbid curiosity about some things. How would you like to travel there? Is the elevator again or...? She grinned excitedly

How oppozzed are you to traveling by column of fire erupting from underground?

*one might've thought they were kidding, but they were already about to snap their fingers.*

Soleil hastily grabbed Beelzebub's hand. "I am mostly human and VERY flammable! Will you protect me? I suggest you do so, my grandfather does watch over me and WILL smite you if I am injured!

Besides. You find me interesting."

*They didn't grab her hand back, instead, their hand started heating up to insane temperatures, burning like a hot stove. Suddenly, everything was burning, and screams and wails echoed everywhere, dirt hitting and sliding off Soleil's body as they finally reemerged in what looked like an alley, fire disappearing around the both of them. The human was surprised to find they were also unscathed.*

Soleil took a few minutes to breathe deeply, eyes tightly closed. 'I'm alive and not burned, I'm alive and not burned, I'm alive and not burned.' When she calmed down and opened her eyes, she glanced around and met Beelzebub's face. She almost said thank you, but held it back in time. Demons definitely don't like to be thanked.

A second later, she miracled a full length coat, fur lined boots, fur lined hat, and fur lined gloves.

"Alright! Let's find you some haggis, no wait! Hákarl! I understand that it smells like ammonia!" When she tried to walk towards the demon Lord, she stumbled a bit.

*Their clothes stayed mostly unchanged, with the only difference being that their usual jacket had switched to a coat. It was an almost unnoticable change.*

Watch your ztep, if you break your nozze I'm not healing any of it.

They took a moment to ground themselves and orient to being in this bitter cold.

"I'm fine! Just not used to traveling by a column of fire erupting from underground! Maybe you should install seatbelts and handrails!" They took refuge in humor to process the experience.

They waved a hand. "Let's go!"

*They followed the human quickly and efficiently as she made their way through the cold streets, wondering what even got them to put up with this situation.*

A few restaurants appeared to serve Hákarl. Soleil chose one at random and entered. It was very nicely warm inside. "Table for two please!" She said sweetly.

*Suddenly a table in the corner, which had just been cleared, seemed to free up as the couple that had booked it called to cancel the reservation. Without waiting to be pointed to it, Beelzebub sat themself.*

Sol hand waved the waitress' confusion away. "Hákarl please. We'll share a serving, thanks. And Brennivin for both of us."

"Good choice, I'll get that started for you. Happy Pride!" The waitress walked away. Soleil's jaw dropped.
