I’m not the type to typically talk about this, but:
I’ve never had a Beta reader. I’m not typically looking for people to review and edit my writing for me. I have a very specific schedule that I put myself on when it comes to post-1st-draft madness.
But lately, I’ve been writing some quality shit and I don’t want to go posting the entire work on sharing sites like FictionPress or even on Tumblr, especially since I’m pretty much guaranteed to publish A+ projects at this point.
So I’m looking for a somewhat-Beta-reader. Just a person I can send things to so I can get a feel for if my emotions/feelings/general aura of the piece is coming through.
Case in point: 2 posts ago. I wrote that, took a sip of wine, posted it, and shut my computer. It was some heavy stuff. I was emotionally worn out. That’s exactly what I want my readers to feel too.
I need someone I can send my writing to with a cliff-notes version of what I want to it to evoke and have that person tell me if I’ve succeeded.
(This would not be a frequent, scheduled thing. Just sort of randomly messaged here or there, as inspiration does not operate on a schedule.)
Anyway. Don’t know how to end this. Words hard. Potato.
