What awaits under the bridge // Closed Potter!AU RP with peppersaltandburn

Two years had flown very quickly. Two years since he’d woken up in a plain, quiet, cream-coloured room. He was dressed in crumpled, pale-blue pyjamas trousers, the shirt neatly folded on a rickety chair at the opposite end of the room. Aside from a table and the cold, metal bedstead in which he lay, there wasn’t a single other object in the room, save for two oil lamps, affixed to opposite walls, yet sequestered behind metal grills

James staggerd grogily to his feet, his arm stinging sharply. He traced a series of diagonal welts leading from his upper arm to his chest. They looked as if they had only partially healed. He winced a second time as he feet came in contact with the cold tile floor. It took four steps to reach the door of the strange room, but the frosted-glass window gave nothing away except that there was light on the other side. A figure moved, and James recoiled from the door, unconsciously terrified of the sudden movement. He tried to piece it together...a bright night, a horrific sound, pain and blood.....it was no good.... That had been so long ago now, and with hindsight, he knew exactly what had happened. It was now the reason why he had a folded square of yellow paper in his wallet where ever he went, and it was why he'd lost his job at the Daily Prophet. It was why his house was ramshackled and messy, why his clothes were threadbare and crumpled...

...and why he now glared through his window with unease at the figure who stood at the end of his garden. His house, crooked as it was, was the only place he could afford now. A decrepit colliery house in a forest near a small, isolated village. He was suspicious of the figure, and his wand was clutched tight in his hand. He waved a cobweb from the window frame as he stared intendly at the woman. 

Why won't she just go away?

The Floating Mistletoe was a holiday curse. It seaked out lonely couples and wouldn't leave until they shared a kiss. Derek is Griffindor and Stiles is a Ravenclaw as HaiHaiPanda asked.
