Phelps Fanfiction 1 part 1
(If i offend anyone, I'm sorry. This is for fun sake ^^ enjoy!)
Where is she? Jenny Gehring thought to herself silently, sitting at the infamous Orlando Heart Bar, holding her copy of the Harry Potter, waiting as patiently as she can for Temar, her best friend…who has wondered off with her new boyfriend. Jenny sighed and went back to her book just as the bartender came over to her with a grin.
“Excuse me,” she said, Jenny lowering her book. “That gentleman over there sent you a drink”
Jenny followed the bartender’s grinning glance and saw a fairly alright looking (so she says) man in a dark shirt sitting alone in the booth, looking very smug. He smiled slightly at her, raising his glance at her. She sighed and smiled back politely, paying no mind to the stranger.
“Um, do you do ice tea?” Jenny asked.
“Uh, yes, of course,” the bartender answered with a surprised expression. “One ice tea coming right up!”
Jenny was so into the final instalment of the Potter book that she was completely oblivious to the guy actually sitting next to her on a stool, tilting his head to read the book’s cover. He was about to say something when the bartender came back with Jenny’s drink.
“Here you go, fresh ice tea with milk,” she said, sliding the mug over. “Enjoy!”
Jenny smiled back. “Thanks”
“Seriously?” said the stranger beside her in a deep tone. “You could’ve ordered anything and you got ice tea?”
Jenny looked up form her book, distracted by his English accent. “Yeah, I don't drink”
“On a business trip?” he asked.
“No, holiday. I just needed inspiration for my novel … first place that came to mind!” Jenny mused.
“So what that’s an interesting book you’ve got there,” he commented, sounding smugger than before. If that was even possible! “Are you a fan?”
Jenny placed the bookmark in. “Yeah, I am, actually. I love the first book best; I think it was the happier times. I actually finished this one ages ago, but when I got here, it just seemed appropriate, you know?”
“Hmm, sure” he just nodded. “Who’s your favourite character?”
“Difficult question,” Jenny took a sip of her ice tea. “I’d have to say…the Weaseley Twins! I cried when I read the bit…you know, the saddest part”
“Yeah, I get what you mean!” he sighed. “So why aren’t you out there? I thought you’re here on holiday”
Jenny’s expression changed as she thought about how long she’d been sitting there by herself, waiting for ‘a friend’. “Well, I was supposed to be meeting someone, but she and HER BOYFRIEND is not showing up, so I guess I’m free”
“Cool, we can hang out then, I don't think my brother is showing up either”
Jenny pffted. “Riiiight, the good old ‘waiting for my brother’ line, very creative”
He looked a little hurt, even though it was dark and they couldn't see very well, Jenny could make out a little pout coming on. She smiled. He smiled back.
“I’m Oliver, by the way,” he stretched out a very large hand. “British, as you can tell”
Jenny shook it cautiously. “Jenny, nice to meet you, Australian and German”
