I absolutely adore how you write Octavian. He's one of my favorite nuanced characters. That's just used for comic relief or to be a one faced villain, but the way you write him makes him feel human. Like that he's an actual teenager slowly loosing it and carrying so much weight that he cracks. It's gorgeous.
(This is being sent on my main, this is @potterlet <3)
lol, I recognize both your blogs from my notes <3
And thank you! Octavian has so much wasted potential imo. I just- he should be a teen that’s got more pressure on him than he can hold. He should be trying his best and tumbling down and down-- I don’t know why Rick wrote him as... such a caricature. Like he did it with Kronos but he gave Luke and Ethan depth but not Octavian?
People aren’t just evil, they have motives and wishes and desires. Octavian should care so so much for Rome. He should care for Rome so much he breaks in half trying to save it. He should be cracking under the strength of his Sight, cracking under the responsibilities he has, cracking under the desperate need to stop them from falling, to stop Rome from burning.
He’s just got so much potential as a tragic fallen hero, one who went too far trying to do what was right for the people, while fighting alongside the people. He died betrayed and alone and-- if you think about it it’s soooo tragic.
I hope I continue to show Octavian well <3 I should probably work on the body swap fic again since that one gives Octavian a starring role lol.
