me, anxious: what if the plate I left flopped over the mold all week at the studio dried too much and cracked?!

don’t worry past me, it’s actually too fucking wet to trim so we have the opposite problem!

and it’s too big to take home so it’s just gonna sit another week 🥲

Any potters out there know why my cup would crack like that fresh off the wheel? I'm going to try wedging harder and clearing the bottom more carefully... but it's such a weird problem. 3 of my cups had this type of crack on the bottom. (You can see one of the cups that split apart on the left.)

I have an uncomfortable urge to go into my orders and send out replacement mugs to all of my friends who bought them from me in my first year because I swear they have gotten so much better and I'm so grateful you supported me but I can do so much better!

messed up studio day

so I haven't made mugs in a long time. it's probably been just under a year. To tell you the truth, I have been avoiding making them for a few reasons, one I was bored making them, and two, the mug design was tedious to craft, I decided today was the day to make it happen.  My neighbor asked me to help him move some heavy furniture and I tried getting on the wheel after, and I think I stringed my muscles  I can't keep my arms and hands steady.  It's just very frustrating to have a studio day like this where I have to mentally and physically switch gears and try to do something else productive, when I real built up the mental capacity to make mugs.
