Slight calamity this week when I accidentally mixed my clear glaze batch wrong. When I opened the glaze fire, the glaze was transparent but had a matte finish. I decided to try a quick-fire up to a hotter temperature to see if it would melt the glaze better. It did melt the glaze a little more but many pieces split and cracked, falling on one another and sticking to the kiln shelves. Total loss, but a learning experience of course. At least is is not in the middle of show season. Anyone need some shards?! #potterybooboos
