Poultry feed for layer

LAYER: Layer poultry farming means raising egg laying poultry birds for the purpose of commercial egg production

Starter feed - at an early age we can give broiler feed to layer birds. this feed can be given for 8 weeks of age to layer chicks

Grower feed: After chick starter feed, pullets birds are ready for a laying flock are given a lower–protein diet to slow growth to allow strong bones

If we give high protein, growth happens quickly and birds start laying eggs too early. Grower pullet rations typically have 18 percent protein and are fed until the chicks are 14 weeks of age.

Layer feed: This feed start giving feed when 5-10% of birds start giving eggs and it is given until the birds are sold. Around 22 weeks of age layer hens get mature. birds required 16-18 % protein level and extra calcium and minerals for strong eggshells
