It’s not a day to dread the following night when you set your alarm for an early wake up. Whether you are rising that next morning for a 9 to 5 or to have a cup of coffee before you wake your children to begin their day.
It’s not the worst day in the world. Monday is not a repeat of disasters we have faced in this life.
My Monday is hearing my alarm at 6:50.
It is starting morning coffee and grabbing my bible for another devotion that tells me, “Hey, life is wonderful. You are strong. You are beautiful. This life was given to you because I sought for you to have a purpose.” Even on a Monday.
Monday is siting on my front porch at 7:00 in the morning with my coffee in on hand and the baby monitor in front of me, waiting for my little boys to make a sound signaling the call for cheerios and bananas.
Monday is a stack of school work for me to get done. Not because I have to. No, because it will get me closer to who I want to be.
Monday is the beginning of a week. The start over day for me. They first day after a long relaxing weekend.
Monday brings me joy, energy, and motivation to be the best mom, student, and partner I can be. After a cup of coffee that is.
Monday is my slow morning, followed by a rush of diaper changes, clean ups, books to be read, stories to be told, meals to be cooked.
Monday is the day I went into my doctor and was told, “Your expecting” with all my children. It was a day of excitement. Monday marks the day I became a mother in 2015.
Monday is full of treasures. Sometimes it’s my oldest saying a new word, or my youngest doing a new trick. Sometimes it’s Winnie the Pooh Sing Along playing on repeat as my children dance around the living room. Sometimes its my oldest singing along with me as I load the dishwasher.
Why is it that society has made it to where we look at Mondays as just a way to live. Just a 9 to 5. Just a day for errands that needed to be done last week. Just four days before a paycheck comes in for the weekend before the next Monday.
Why are we dreading the day we spent the weekend resting for. Yes the weekend is over, but your week has just began.
Monday is sweet like coffee creamer and a spoon full of sugar.
Monday is wholesome like the breakfast I feed my kids every morning.
Monday is full of life, adventure, new beginnings, coffee, coffee, and more coffee.
