As you know, I’m trying to seal my watercolor paintings before applying resin. I’m using a cold wax medium to do that. I’m also experimenting with ways to treat the back side. Without a seal on the paper, it becomes translucent. So in some of my test chips I put white acrylic on the back, wax, or just left wax on the top. In these videos, you will see the resin doming process. First: applying a small dot of resin to each piece. Then you allow a little time for the resin to settle. Next you spread out the layer of resin, slowly and carefully along the piece. Usually I take extra care during this step, but since these are test pieces I went a little faster. During the process I already started to notice that using the wax was working, and keeping my paintings fresh. Also, the acrylic backs helped keep the paper stiff and prevented curling. ☘️ Part 3 I’ll show the results.
