I’m working on a project about racism regarding fantasy races, i.e. why fantasy races are the way they are, why they’re problematic (or, rarely, well-designed), and how to improve them + the genre. It’s hit a bit of a roadblock, so I’m curious to get some opinions outside my sphere of research...if anyone wants to share some thoughts, feel free to drop me a message or reply to this post. So, I’m curious about something.

How many of you relate to Dimitri’s arc, and that has influenced how you feel about him? I was stunned by how well his recovery paralleled my own (minus the medieval warfare aspects, of course). I realized the reasons he bothered me at times were a reflection of my own inability to feel sympathy for my past self and accept the things I did that I regret.

I’m a little stunned, to be honest. Azure Moon is my second route and I was a little slow to enjoy it, compared to Verdant Wind. I loved Claude and related to him, too, as a mixed race person who felt outcasted for various reasons and grew into it as I got older. So I’m really floored by how the game managed to write MULTIPLE characters with incredibly real and relatable stories.

I suppose I want to hear if anyone else had a similar experience with the game, either in regards to these characters or others I haven’t mentioned yet. The writing is just...good lord haha, wow.

i’m 22 so obviously older than the target demographic for sso, so i play alone, but sometimes the constant chatter during champs makes me wanna join in. i did shitty so i tried to say something like ‘zoinks dude i’m trash at these’ but like every word except the last two were blurred, and this group of teens immediately went for the throat. ahhh, to be young again lol.
