Is the west wing good?

So I don’t tend to re-watch things very quickly when I re-watch cos I’ve seen them once and don’t get as invested  when they’re “fresh.” West Wing, on the hand, I’ve ended up watching about 4 times all the way through? And since now bits of eps and stuff. It’s the show that got me to tumblr and into “fandom” stuff cause I really want to geek out about it.

The thing is that you’ve got to take it with a pinch of salt (and context!) to when it was written - a cutting edge 90s Liberal fantasy - and also the author being a complete white liberal male loon who probs was writing really leftie when he started out but nowadays it seems dated. Beautiful dialogue with a cast that carries the show very well, sometimes Sorkin writes quite meta-ish moments and the cast actually really humanise them.

It has shockingly bad written/out of touch moments but very poignant, still relevant politics. Lovable characters, intriguing storylines that over time you start to maybe change view/perspective on and stuff. Really really great (one of my favourite all-time shows).

Saaame I only managed to write like two paragraphs for the rivals cos I picked the wrong question and was too stupid to try and restart...
