Ghostbusters II / Power Drift Activision (Foursfield; Sega AM2) UK 1990
Power Drift (arcade)
Power Drift 1990 - PC Engine
A terribly underrated (Sega) racing game.
Power Drift (PCE / Sega AM2, Copya Systems / 1990)
It will always be weird to me that Power Drift got a PC Engine port but not a Mega Drive one. Regardless, this is an admirable attempt to bring Yu Suzuki’s sprite scaler roller coaster racer to consoles.

After Burner II: original arcade game soundtrack (1987, 2018)
Chances were if you played Space Harrier (1985), Outrun (1985), and Super Hang-On (1987), then you also played After Burner II. Sega took some Eighties’ pointers from The Never-Ending Story and Ferrari, so why not Top Gun because Tom Cruise fan worship was the big thing at the time? Of all of Sega’s rail-games, After Burner II was one of the more busier and frustrating titles of theirs because of the guided enemy fire which at times was almost near-impossible to avoid. But the introduction of high-speed throttling, additional stages, and tail-chases was enough to give the original the ‘II’ commendation. But with all classic arcade titles of retro- neon youth come memorable soundtracks and this game was no exception. No one could ever forget the adrenaline-rush one got during the title track as they played the game in-cabinet that rocked with the action. For those who experienced it, you had it good. Thank Hiroshi Kawaguchi, the S.S.T. Band, and the Sega Sound Unit (H.) for it.
Up next for Sega’s graphic-scaling itinerary to finish up their stellar decade: Galaxy Force II and Power Drift (both 1989).
