Les Mills COMBAT: Power HIIT 1
I was so sore last night and today from starting Les Mills COMBAT. You know - the kind of sore that feels like you have done a million pushups (P90X the first time, for example) and your arms are so sore it hurts to raise them? This is a good kind of sore - it means I am using muscles that have not been used it awhile. (Even though I shake my arms at the hubby like they weigh a million pounds and hope he massages them - something I am sure he loves).
No workout plateau for this girl!
I woke up early to do Power HIIT 1 before my daughter would be standing in her crib with her arms out. My first thought - oh 30 minutes - no prob Bob. I am happy to report that weights (12lb dumbbells for me) were used during this sesh (for dead lifts and overhead presses)! I admit that I had to take a couple breathers during some of the 'high intensity interval training'. I burnt around 315 calories in 30 minutes - a good burn again and my upper body was soaked from sweat.
Now I can say that I know what HIIT means - and so do you if you did not before (High Intensity Interval Training). This workout tries to work your arms, core, and legs as quickly as it can (in 30 minutes). It was successful - my arms are still sore and I am sure will be tomorrow. I wish it was slightly longer in order to burn a couple more calories. What?! Bite your tongue. I am sure I will regret saying this... in the future.
Today was brunch with Grandma, a little shopping (horrible time to go shopping by the way so we did not go to the 'major stores'), a short nap (for L, not me), and some Teddy Graham's (and Greek yogurt) for snack:
Mommy side note: I had to get out a bottle and warm up some whole milk for L last night. I do not think she had enough milk throughout the day and she was so restless after sleeping for an hour last night she was choking herself crying. She just wanted 12oz warm milk and a cuddle while it was raining. :( We are getting there!
Then, we went to my hubby's mother's Holiday Part-ay. Everyone said L looked like me - I smiled and said, 'Yes she does!'. Home family photo first using my fancy WiFi camera adapter (you would think my hand was on the hubby's back, but no, it's on my phone).
His mom had a spread like this:
With a dessert table that was prettttttty awesome (including Peppermint Bark that L helped herself to):
"Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night!"
