Well, to put it simply: when it all went belly up. When things didn't work out the way they were supposed to, who wouldn't feel a minor blip of irritation???

"It's not even that BAD, I SWEAR! I've been really looking forward to this mission! I'm not going to sit it out because I have a little booboo."

            『 ❝ huh? ❞ 』 Zack blinked, caught off-guard by the question. lose focus again? what was he talking about? reaching up a hand, the raven flinched when a brief spike of pain shot through him from where gloved fingers grazed the cut on his cheek. oh yeah.             he’d honestly forgotten he’d even been injured at all. he must’ve unconsciously blocked out the pain again. he tended to have a bad habit of doing that. especially when on missions. he didn’t like having to bother with injuries if he didn’t have to. most of the time they weren’t even that bad so it wasn’t like he was risking his life or anything.

            『 ❝ oh this? it’s nothing. I didn’t lose focus again. ❞ 』 he spoke up, lips curving into a small frown, 『 ❝ just had a bit of a close call is all. I’m fine... really. ❞ 』 he lifted his shoulders into a shrug, averting his gaze, 『 ❝ doesn’t even hurt. ❞ 』
