SUMMARY: Team USA for the 2016 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships have a team bonding day, and one of the team building games was a game of Laser tag, wackiness ensues.

They had barely been in town, a few days ahead of time before the games to start. They had practice earlier that morning, but it had been brought up in the team meeting that later that day there would be a small ‘Team Bonding’ project later, and as the 19-year-old Auston scanned the room, he knew that some of the guys were already making their teams before they even knew what the project was. There were a couple guys on the team that he wouldn’t mind teaming up with, but he knew the coaches would separate people for it, so already choosing sides would be a bad idea for him.
Once the time came, much to everyone’s surprise, the team bonding was going to be laser tag, it was only a 20-minute drive from the practice facility, and once again everyone started to team up, some screaming they wanted him on their team, he couldn’t help but laugh when the coach finally said that he would be picking the teams for this, designating red and blue and which player would be on whichever team, meaning separating Tkachuk and DeBrincat who were holding onto each other for dear life, hoping to not be part, but their plans were foiled.
Once they were picked for either side, the blue team went in first, Auston and a few of the other guys walked in and put on their vests, listening to the instructions in both Finnish and English before they were able to go into the two-story facility, he looked over to see his Captain and friend Werenski ahead of him, nudging him a small bit, “Hey, go blue?” making a small reference to Zach’s time at the University of Michigan.
