You know who I hate?
A specific type of parents. Parents should care about their child/children, that’s why they are there, why we have a noun for them, because they are supposed to take care of their child/children while they are still growing and can’t function by their own yet.
The type of parents that I really despise is the ignorant yet observant, relaxed yet intense type. When I say they are ignorant, I mean that they don’t see that their child is suffering. This applies especially to the mentally strained-out children, like those suffering from anxiety, or depression. They say “oh i’m providing their house, their clothing, their food, and they give me shame and they behave like they are retarded! What else do they want from me?!” When I say observant, i mean those typical helicopter parents. They see their children as their possession, and thus their children don’t have any rights to privacy.
When I say relaxed, I mean they don’t really care. No no they care A LOT about their children: what their grades are, are they gonna make enough money, what their careers are, and that’s why they are intense. But they don’t care about their children. No “how’s your day”, no “how’s your friend”, or “how did that trip go?”.
If you are being raised like the examples i wrote about, or were raised like that, I just want to say that I understand. We were all robbed of our childhood. And I want you to know that, it’s all going to be ok. We are going to be just fine. And when you become parents, don’t become the monsters that your children avoid.
