i kind of want to see finn as a dad because after imperial dreams that's pretty much where i'm at
I haven’t seen the movie itself yet - I meant to watch the streaming the other night but my wifi crashed :( - but just going from what was shown in the trailer, same. Finn would be the best dad.
I'm assuming you can't help me with watercolor painting, but if your followers could: how do you paint a character of color with watercolor in a way that doesn't end in whitewashing? I made this post/155863378754/bodhi-rook-6-i-think-this-is-pretty-beautiful and I'm worried about the color of bodhi's skin here. I tried to use purple to create a darker skin, but since it dries and looks this pale, I feel like I failed. Any advice?
Only thing I can draw is stick figures and black and white maps, so you’re correct in assuming that this is beyond me.
But to any follower who want to maybe take a look and offer input here’s the post.
i think chirrut/baze is the new gal pal because every review i see describes baze as chirrut's "buddy" or "pal" and i'm like "boy do i have news for you" (i haven't sent you asks in a while because i blacklisted everything and everyone, even the letters e, a, and i to avoid spoilers from rogue one)
This just make me appreciate that interview done for a Chinese magazine I think it was, even more. Literally called the feelings between them “gay love”. (Thank you to @rookbodhi for that translation, I’ll dig it out later when I’m off work.)
And man I admire your dedication to avoiding spoilers.
Hi, did you watch Smallville back in the day? I've been thinking about how the fandom hated asian!Lana with a passion, and preferred Clark to be with either the white Chloe or the white Lois. Usually they cited bad writing, but I feel like if the series aired now, I would back Lana like a motherfucker, and probably stop watching once she was written out. Do you think the fandom was like super racist or what?
No I didn’t. Apart from one or two episodes and all I can recall of those two are Clark and Bald Guy and even that is extremely vague. So I can’t really comment in the specific.
I can’t say I’m in any way surprised at how Lana was treated though. And the tired old “bad writing” argument. Funny how fandom can overlook and fix bad writing when it comes to white male characters, isn’t it? Even white female characters can get this treatment if it helps sideline a woman of color. But any character of color? Nah.
I don’t think the Smallville fandom was any more racist than any other fandom though. There is that post I’m too tired to go find right now that points out that a fandom with a diverse cast isn’t more racist than any other fandom, it’s just that the racists that are always present now have more target. And I would add more prominent targets, so it becomes that much more noticeable.
So with the caveats for not knowing the specific fandom in any way I don’t think it was any more racist than your average fandom. Lana’s presence just made the racists noticeable.
Hope this makes sense, I’m quite a bit of a scatter brain today.
Hi, to help the new Finn lover: you gave the names of some Finn friendly blogs in this post you did a while back 148261459653/i-love-your-blog-and-how-you-defend-finn-against
THANK YOU!
@wukodork here’s a workable link.
Sorry to bother you again, but do you have some links on how to avoid drawing crossed eyes or eyes that are looking at different directions?
You’re never a bother!!
Our eyes tag may be helpful, because I think a lot of this depends on what kind of eyes you’re drawing?
It also may be helpful for when you draw heads to draw some guidelines (like so):
(source)
That’ll help you keep the features angled consistently.
What type of eyes do you draw? (realistic? anime? cartoonish?) Depending on what kind of eyes you draw I’ll be more able to help you! :>
And if you want more personalized help , you can always swing by our stream tonight! ;) Donate a few dollars to our fundraiser to the ACLU and get a personalized critique! hehe.
you talked about imzy and i was curious so i created a profile. but how do you actually use imzy? do you still follow people like here?
Well that has caused some confusion but I think @nekosmuse cracked it. Imzy isn’t tumblr or facebook, it’s reddit (in format anyway, if not intent).
You follow not people, but communities. Now of course you can make your own community of one person, kind of like a personal blog, that people can follow. And if a person haven’t made a community, whether just their “own blog” or a community about a topic then you can’t follow them.
Though you can find their profile and see which posts, comments, ect they’ve made. Like mine is https://www.imzy.com/@Jedifinn, though there’s zero activity so far because I always prefer lurking in the beginning even if I know people.
I hope that makes things a bit clearer. I’m still rather confused by the place though I’ve been lurking for what, a couple of weeks now. It is definitely a different setup than tumblr it.
