Also these are the bigger bodies and catnap is not Theodore in my au

It was not the first time you've done this, overworking yourself to the point you fall asleep at your desk.
Your desk was buried beneath papers, folders, and loose sheets that was long gone from sliding off the desk and onto the floor. Some were slightly wrinkled under you as you felt.
Others stacked on top of each other. It had become a common thing that no one had seemed to question anymore.
You always seemed to end up in this situation somehow. All the time.
Every morning you've told yourself today that it would be different, be easier for you. You would pace yourself more lightly than rushing everything.
Maybe take breaks here and there, maybe even leave on time this time and yet somehow the day always changes itself into stacks of paper work, helping others, helping children and fixing mistake that weren't yours.
And saying yes when you should've said no.
But it was your job to do these things.. right?
You were now slumped over your desk. Exhausted, after a long day of signing papers.
Outside your office, the laughter of the children echoed through, their happy voices, their giggles and squeals. Normally that would make you smile.
But today it only reminded how long you've been sitting here, alone at your desk.
Your whole body ached, sore and your eyes burn only slightly.
Your hand is cramped from gripping your pen tightly for how many hours now? But if you finished now, then tomorrow would be easier for you. At least that was the lie you kept telling yourself.
And to tell you Catnap always HATED whenever you did this. He practically despised it.
Every time he noticed you pushing yourself over the edge too hard, he'd always try to step in one way or another. Sometimes he would simply drag you away from your desk. Other times he would push those papers off your desk like a cat would until you groan in frustration and leave.
Or other times, he'd use that red sleeping gas of his to knock you out long enough for you to get some rest.
Then he'd sit beside you until you woke up.
Dogday usually would join in too, curling or sitting nearby like an oversized guard dog making sure no one would disturb your peace and quiet.
But this time, you managed to fall asleep before either one of them could catch you.
Earlier that afternoon, you couldn't really tell. After spending time with the children and helping clean up the toys, another worker had approached you with an apologetic smile of theirs.
"Elliot needs these done by the end of the day."
Then they handed the stack of papers to you.
At first you laughed, thinking this was a joke. But it wasn't but still you accepted the task before realizing just how much Elliot expected form you.
By the time you understood the trap you'd already nodded, smiling and promising them that you'd get them done on time.
So you did what you always did. Pushed yourself through.
Hour after hour.
Page after page.
Signature after signature.
Until finally, with trembling and cramping hand and droopy eyes, you finished the whole stack of paper work.
The last paper finally signed.
The relief had hit you before the exhaustion. Now here you were, face pressed against the last finished paper, cheek resting on the scribble signature you signed.
Softly snoring in the silent office space while everyone outside searched Playcare wondering where you might have wandered off to.
And one particular kitty cat already knew exactly where to look for you.
The office door creaked slowly open.
"Found you."
Catnap's deep voice traveled through the dim room as he stepped inside. His tall figure filling the doorway, his ears slightly twitching in disbelief once his eyes landed on your slumped over figure.
He stared, then blinked slowly.. then again.
You were completely passed out at your desk.. again. Stacks of completed paperwork surrounding you.
Catnap let out a low grumble deep within his chest as he shut the door behind him, his tail lashing once behind in irritation.
Why were you so stubborn sometimes?
Why did you always have to feel the need to prove yourself worthy until you collapse time and time again?
Why did everyone keep letting you do this to yourself?
He then slowly started to walk over to you, his bare foot paws padding against the floor, his claws making clicking sounds as he walked. Before kneeling himself beside your chair. And for a moment, all his annoyance melted away.
Your hair had fallen over your face, ink slightly smudge on your palm, with the pen needing to be let go.
Your breathing was slow and heavy, clearly because you work yourself to death.
Slowly but carefully Catnap brushed the hair away from your face, his eyes lingering on your face until your face scrunched up slightly then relaxing. You were fully asleep.
You seemed to lean into his touch.
His expression softening, then letting out an another grumble, quieter this time since he was more closer to you.
"Too stubborn sometimes..."
He muttered under his breath, then he began to stand up, sliding one arm behind your back and the other beneath your legs, until he lifted you up without any trouble.
He was being mindfully in case he was to hit something.
For a moment you shifted in your sleep as he froze mid action. His ear flattening as he cringed slightly until you leaned into his warmth.Your cheek now pressed against his hoodie, then nuzzled closer to his fluffy neck.
He was side glancing down at you as his ear stood back up and twitched, his tail puffing up slightly then relaxing.
He lets out a sigh through his nose until he started to walk out of the office area.
He had a tight grip on you, just in case you were to fall but he wouldn't let that happen. His tail swayed lazily behind him as he walked down to his cat house.
You were being carried like a baby by a tall over 7 foot cat mascot. You were living the dream.
He finally made it to his cat house, the dim light behind the window letting him know Dogday was already in his house.
Waiting.
His tail wrapping around the door knob and opening it and letting him inside, turning to the side to make sure he doesn't hit your head against the door frame.
Dogday who was laying somewhere on the soft rug, perked up immediately.
"There you are! I was waiting for...-"
Dogday then shutted up as soon as he realized you were asleep in Catnap's arms while Catnap glared at him.
"Again..?"
Dogday whined as Catnap sighed, now looking down at you.
"Yes.."
Dogday then got up and walked over to Catnap and you, slightly brushing a paw against your warm cheek as you mumbled in your sleep. Catnap then gave a low hum and then walked over to his beanbag and placed you gently. The beanbag making you sink in as he moved your neck a little to the side, so it wouldn't be sore when you wake up.
You immediately melted as you continued to sleep.
Catnap nodded as he admired his work as he walked to where Dogday was.
Catnap keeping an eye on you while him and Dogday talked quietly for a while.
Everything was calm.
Until it wasn't...
"Oh sweetie.."
"Kiddo.."
Those voices...
No.. it can't be..
"Mama? Papa?"
You called out in your squeaky 10 year voice. It was the same nightmare you keep having every once in a while.
"How's our little girl?"
"Mum?"
"How's my little champion doing?"
"Dad?"
What's happening? You couldn't see anything? Why was it so dark?
Nothing.. just pure darkness
The voices were getting closer and closer but you couldn't see anything... why couldn't you see your parents?
Did you forgot what they looked like?
"Mum? Dad? Where are you?"
"We're over here sweetie."
"I can't see you?"
"Behind you."
That voice didn't sound like any of them but your body turned around, your eyes widening in fear, sweat now clinging onto your skin and your eyebrows furrowed.
Suddenly you saw two figures behind you.
Their faces were gone and nothing else.
"What-"
"You never said goodbye to us.."
"What.."
"You never missed us.."
"I did!"
"It should've been you!"
"NO!"
While you were sleeping, Dogday decided to sleep himself. He decided it was best to sleep beside you but on the floor to make sure that you slept peacefully on the bean bag with him nearby.
Catnap watched over, until he realized your face twisted. Your fingers clenching onto nothing as you let out a small whine.
His ear perking at the sudden sound.
Then..
"Mama... Papa..."
Catnap's ears now flat on his head as he heard you say those words, his face turning into worry and he stood up from where he sat and walked over to you.
Your brows pinched tightly, your lips trembling and tears forming in the corner of your eyes.
Your breathing became more rapid as you tossed and turned.
The memories were coming back to you.
Then suddenly you woke up in a fright, gasping like you lost air for a second as you sat straight up.
Tears dripping down your cheeks as sweat clung to your skin.
Your eyes were blurry, blinking a few times as you looked around to find out your were in Catnaps cat house until his voice called out to you.
"Nightmare?"
You gasp in surprise as you turned your head to the side to see Catnap watching you. His presence slightly calming you a bit.
"How.. how did I get here?"
"You passed out at your desk.. again."
Catnap let out a grumble lowly as you pursed your lips together.
"So I carried you here."
"Oh..okay."
You then shivered slightly but was noticed by Catnap. His gaze sharpening on you, then reaching his paw over to touch your cheek which was warm a few minutes ago to now icy cold.
"Oh.. I get cold every time I wake up from a nightmare.. no biggy."
You waved him off as you let out a soft nervous laugh while he hummed, standing up as he went to go grab something until he came back with a hoodie.
"Here. Take this."
"But-"
"Put it on."
"It's huge.."
"And you're cold, take it before I put it on you myself."
"Okay..Okay."
"..."
"Thank you."
You began to put the hoodie on and as soon you pulled your head through the hole and arms, you were engulfed by warm lavender fabric. It was like a Oodie but bigger.
Catnap then sat down on the bean bag as you looked at yourself until you were pulled in. He lifted you more comfortably on his lap, your legs straddling him as he started to purr.
"Cat..nap?"
"Try to sit still for me Starlight."
"Wha-"
Before you could finish, you relaxed onto his chest, his large paw on your back and the other wrapped around you securely.
Catnap then lowered his head and a faint red smoke drifted out of his mouth.
Suddenly a wave of sleepiness shot through you as you completely relaxed against him, your body limp as he held you.
"Don't fight it.. just relax for me."
Now you feel his gently claws combing through your hair, also giving you scalp a little massage as your eyes were drooping, open and close, open and close.
You were now back asleep.
Within a moment, you were back to the same old nightmare.
Darkness.
Voices.
Voices that echoed though the nothingness as you sobbed on the lifeless ground beneath you.
"I'm sorry.."
"I'm sorry.."
"I'm so-"
Meanwhile Catnap realized you were having a nightmare again and decided to fix it.
Your finger clenched his fur as you whined.
His paw moving up at the back of your head, his forehead leaning now against yours as he sunk into your mind.
He was now in your dream like he always did to help with your nightmares.
Your voice echoing through.
"I'm sorry.."
"I'm sorry.."
"I'm so-"
"Enough of that."
"Huh.."
You turned to the voice behind you as you spotted Catnap, you blinked up at him and realized he was now in your dream.
A lazy smirk now plastered on his face until the darkness turned into light.
You closed your eyes shut until you re opened them to see a flower field in front of you.
"I totally forgot you could do that.."
You pouted as Catnap softly gave out a chuckle, his tail swaying behind him as he stepped closer to you. His paw now resting on your head as he guided it down to your chin to lift your head up at him.
"Rest.."
He then crouched in front of you, leaning his head near your until your foreheads touched. You immediately felt lighter, eyes drooping as you laid limp against him.
After that, there was no more dreams, just rest.
After 3 hours of resting, you started to wake up from your slumber. Wondering what time it is.
Blinking then looking up at Catnap who was already awake, looking down at you with a smile.
"Morning sleepyhead."
Catnap joked as he purred, now nuzzling himself against you as you yawned.
"What time is it?"
"Just around 6:00pm"
You nodded then tried to stretch until your legs couldn't move, letting out a confused hum until you looked down.
Dogday was laying on your lap.
"Dogday has been here the whole time?"
"Pup was worried about you, everyone was."
"Oh.."
You softly smiled, reaching down to pet Dogday's head until his tail started wagging a lot as you chuckled.
"Dogday."
No response.
"I know you're awake, your tail is wagging you dork."
"Aww."
Dogday whined as he lifted his head up, Catnap laughed as Dogday sat up.
"I'm glad you got proper rest Angel.”
"Well all thanks to Catnap."
"You are very welcome starlight."
Catnap's purring became louder as you three stayed there a bit longer before going back out.
