it happened a long time ago (or it seems like that) and now I feel I'm much more informed, and have a clearer view on all sides of the argument. so it wasn't all bad- and I'm also a lot better at receiving criticism now. I mean, people genuinely think it's right and okay to send hate to people who supposedly have it better than them. how could they have been led so astray?

i mean it's not like we assume every social justice warrior is a queer POC overweight female so why do we assume every bigot is a straight white guy

there are plenty of sexist women, racist POCs, and homophobic gay people

I have to say that it's disappointing that my first experiences with that word were on this website and were used with a negative connotation. Thanks for spreading awareness.

it's kind of disappointing to me that the word "cis" is used so negatively, almost like how any transphobic slur is used outside of tumblr. but you're welcome! and it's no problem! it was stuff that needed to be said.

the thing that pissed me off the most about that whole powerpoint thing was people telling me that I wasn't oppressed enough because I'm white. like are you fucking kidding me? you have seen my blog for five seconds over the internet and already you know enough about me to tell me that I don't know anything about oppression? please educate yourself about both the person you're flaming and about the real definition of oppression before telling someone that.

I see people all the time saying "I am a Hispanic trans* female overweight lesbian and your bigotry is oppressing and hurting me!", and when the op who MUST BE A STRAIGHT WHITE CIS MALE BECAUSE OPPRESSED PEOPLE CAN'T BE BIGOTS replies with "tell me what I'm doing wrong and I'll stop", all they say is "no, I'm not going to waste my time on a bigot like you, go educate yourself asshole :)" like IF IT'S ACTUALLY FUCKING HURTING YOU WHATEVER THEY'RE DOING THEN YOU HAVE TO STAND UP FOR YOURSELF AND TELL THEM HOW TO STOP HURTING YOU OR IT'S NEVER GOING TO GET BETTER

I've never been more offended at anything on tumblr until now. When that person said "nah I’m pretty sure writing a simple, easily understood sentence and then getting angry when people interpret it as basically as is possible isn’t just being “bad at communication” lmfao" ---I do this all the time. In real life, and on the internet. and it really makes me angry cause I can't change it and I lose friends over this. They never even give me a chance to explain before bombarding me.

yeah, I'm probably the least charismatic and good-at-talking-with-people person I know, and I've lost a lot of good friends for it too. for a site that calls itself "full of introverts" and "awful at communicating with normal people" some people on here sure do expect a lot of catering to their idea of clear speaking
