why is that racist? I'm probably just ignorant, but honest question. im asian, though not japanese, and if i was in that family's place it would be a little embarrassing but not particularly offensive. i don't understand
It could have been taken as offensive because I'm sure they've had their fair share of ignorant/racist comments (like people who assumed they were Japanese or Chinese and spoken the language without knowing), or at the least they could have thought I was making fun of them.
That wasn't my intention at all but intentions don't mean as much as actions so I just feel really bad at the thought of offending or otherwise hurting someone's feelings ;^;
