a Joel Miller mini-series inspired by Practical Magic.

Hello! I still can't believe I'm doing this, but here I am, dipping my toes into my first mini-series with an OFC. A little bit over a year ago, I posted the first version of this story, inspired by the movie and the writing of @divine-timings and @penvisions. And despite loving the result very much, my writing wasn't what it is now, and I felt like I wanted more for Joel and Sage. So, after two months of work, thanks to the incredible help of @schnarfer (Thank you so much for holding my hand throughout all this and for planting the seed of the idea of turning it into a series♥️) and the support of @thundermartini, @thedilfdiaries, and @encasedinobsidian, the rewrite I planned has become this!

@thundermartini created this fantastic moodboard, capturing the essence of the story. And @yopossum gifted me this portrait, perfectly picturing this version of Joel that I love and treasure so much. If you haven't seen them, you should go and look at them. They are stunning!♥️

Just rewatched Practical Magic and gosh I love it so much so felt inspired to make this!

You come from a line of witches with a curse that any man you fall in love with dies… but what if you fall in love with something else entirely..

Still thinking about practical magic and how Nikolai would be the perfect Jimmy and Price the perfect Gary. Nikolai who leaves cigarette burns and brands across your thighs and back, who refuses to wear a condom, and says that you can either hold his cock while he takes a piss or you can open your mouth for him. Then Price who holds you like you’re made of porcelain, who leaves fresh beard burn between your thighs every night, and who just smiles when you wonder aloud what happened to the grocery man who tried flirting with you last month. They have the same beast inside them, one is just wearing a nicer mask.

The whole fic is predicated on one scene from Practical Magic, which is the one where Sandra Bullock's child character makes a wish/casts a spell to fall in love with an impossible person

Clint picks the MOST impossible traits he could possibly think of, including "old and young at the same time" and "better aim than me".

For the next thirty years he runs through a string of "it's not you, it's me" relationships, knowing he cursed himself to eternal loneliness

There's a short, horrifying period of time where he's worried he wished for Steve

There's a much longer and even more horrifying period of time where he's horrified to realize that actually, he wished for Bucky, and maybe all the horrible shit Bucky suffered through was Clint's fault
