Hi All, welcome to the 2026 edition of the annual be_compromised epic summer promptathon!
Been wanting to jump into the fandom but not sure where to start? Now’s the time. Newbie or a lurker? Here’s the perfect opportunity to say hello! Not been active in the fandom for a while? Welcome back. Promptathon is a fun, no-pressure environment where you can post zero to as many prompts as you like, zero to as many fills as you like, and join in the squee or just quietly enjoy the fun.
We’re a community for fans of Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff that welcomes ALL THINGS MARVEL. We’d like Clint and/or Natasha to show up in prompt fills somewhere, but what that means is up to you - individually or as friends, lovers, spouses, partners, gen fic, ANYTHING. Yes, that means we also welcome other characters and pairings (and threesomes or moresomes), gen fic, anything goes.
If that sounds like the kind of party you’d like to join, please read on for the event timeline, how to leave prompts and fills, and a few rules to make sure everyone has a fun time.
TIMELINE
TODAY: You can start leaving prompts from right now (but please don’t post any fills yet, so we can a nice pile of prompts to get us started)
SATURDAY 01 AUGUST: You can start leaving fills (and you can also keep prompting!)
MIDNIGHT SUNDAY 27 SEPTEMBER: Promptathon, both prompts and fills, ends at midnight in whatever your timezone is.
A masterlist will be posted shortly after the event ends, on Dreamwidth and tumblr.
HOW PROMPTATHON 2026 WORKS
Promptathon takes place on Dreamwidth, but you don't need an account to prompt, fill, or join in. Anonymous comments are enabled; if you comment anonymously please consider including your online handle(s) in your comment so we know who you are and can credit you!
Leaving Prompts
Please post each of your prompts in a separate comment to the dreamwidth post.
You can leave as many prompts as you want. We’re serious. Keep coming back. We want as many prompts as we can possibly get.
Prompts can be anything – simple or elaborate, words or pictures, songs or poems, lyrics or phrases, anything that could inspire a fanwork. Use your imagination. Go wild! You can also re-use prompts from any of our previous events, whether they were filled or not.
Please put a spoiler warning at the start of your prompt if it contains spoilers/speculation relating to any films/tv shows released in at least the last six months or any not yet released.
Submitting Fills
You can post your fills anywhere, but you must leave a comment on the dreamwidth post in a reply to the prompt that you are filling in order for your fill to be included on the masterlist at the end.
The subject line of your comment should be: ‘FILL: title, rating’ to make your fill easy to spot among all the prompts.
You can post your entire fanwork in the comment if it’s short enough AND/OR you can post your fanwork anywhere else on the internet and post a link to it in your comment.
Your comment must also include:
> Title
> Author/Online handle (if you’re posting anonymously/without a Dreamwidth account) AND your tumblr handle (if different) for masterlist purposes
> Rating (ie film ratings or AO3 style ratings)
> Any warnings OR 'no AO3 warnings apply' OR you can say ‘choose not to warn’ (please use the AO3 warnings or take a look at our comm guidance if you’re stuck)
> A spoiler warning if your fill contains spoilers/speculation relating to any films/tv shows released in at least the last six months or not yet released
Following these guidelines 1) makes it easier for people to find your fills during the event using this post as a one-stop shop and know what they’re clicking on, and 2) makes it a LOT easier for your mods to create a masterlist at the end, and without missing any of your fills. Thank you!
If commenting with a link to a fill posted elsewhere, consider including a teaser to catch people’s attention! For example, the first few paragraphs. If you’re posting on AO3, we have a ‘Community: be_compromised’ tag and a promptathon collection if you'd like to use them. If you’re posting on tumblr, we track #be_compromised and #clintasha, and we’ll reblog to the be_compromised tumblr. We want people to be able to find and appreciate your fills <3
There’s no length requirement on fanworks submitted. You can create drabbles and three sentence fics to epics. Feel free to create vids, art, fanmixes, moodboards, anything at all; promptathon is all about sharing ideas and getting creative! Fills do not have to be complete or completed during the promptathon. You can fill as many prompts as you want, and prompts can be filled multiple times by whoever wants to fill them. You can fill more than one prompt in one fill, or make a series out of fills for various prompts. Zero pressure; all fun.

We welcome reactions, discussion, and cheerleading in comment replies to individual prompts, and we love comments, kudos, and reactions to fills. (This is where posting each prompt separately and labelling the subject line of fills helps to keep things organised.) We also have a be_compromised discord server if you prefer to chat in a chatroom-style space. However, all prompts and fills will be in this post as a one-stop shop. Commenting, cheerleading, and enthusiasm is a huge part of fandom and everyone is very welcome to join in! Yes, even if you don’t post any prompts or fills.

My local animal shelter (BARCS) just got an influx of 369 birds from a shitass pet store, which is a truly terrifying number of parrots to have inside a building. BUT: there's a donation drive going on right now where you can vote for a pet's face to go on a beer can for their annual BARCStoberfest. Every single vote is a dollar towards animal rescue!!!

i love making friends in fandom, i love playing with our toys together, i love coming up with increasingly niche aus, i love lifting strangers up, i love motivating people to create, i love watching someone get excited over an idea and immediately running with it, i love yelling in tags together, i love seeing someone gain confidence in their writing/art because people were kind to them <33
So as some of you know I am trying to afford having some dental work but that has been put on hold for the moment to help cover bills.
I am very close to my paternal grandfather and right now he has reached the point of needing caregivers fulltime. His insurance will only pay for 30 hours a week, so my family and I are making up the rest. Because I don't have children, I made the call to spend two days a week as his caregiver.
My job is being super accommodating and letting me cut down my days while keeping me listed as full time so I don't loose my benefits, but it does mean taking a significant pay cut for a little while, since my off days will be FMLA and my state doesn't pay leave. I am in a librarian, my salary is hard to stretch at the best of time. At this point I am not getting paid for the time I spend caregiving as it's outside the 30 hours a week insurance deems reasonable for caring for a dying person. I love my grandfather very much, he has always been the most supportive person in my family, especially when it came to me coming out, so while it's hard work, I know I'm doing what I can for him. However, it does mean I myself need some help so I can continue to do it.
So yeah, any help would be appreciated. My links are listed below but even a reblog is helpful.
