Fragment #2
"Guess what? God will test you by the thing you most proud of."
"Oh, is that so? Guess who have just spend too much time on the shower."
"Hey, I'm serious. Let say that you're the best at math in your class. You're very good at math, right?"
"Well, not really, but compared to my classmates, I got quite a good grade."
"Come on, who else can get score above 63 at that crazy ass teacher class except you? If there's a hall of fame for passing that guy's class, your photo will be there at the top spot with the shiny frame and whatever glittery ornament they put on it. And what the hell with that weird passing score? Why put 63 of all numbers? Why not put 65 or maybe 60?"
"Now you're exaggerating it. Back to that God's-test thing."
"Okay, right. What would you feel if you failed on the subject that you most proud of? It will be more devastating than when you failed other subject like geography, for example. Nobody cares with that stuff, anyway."
"Hmmm, I don't think so. Maybe I'll feel a little bit disappointed, but then I'll think that it must be my lack of practice. Something like that."
"But it will be more disappointing than failing other subject, right?"
"Well, yes, a little."
"Got my point now?"
"From my perspective, it all depends on your way of seeing things. If you didn't see the failure as a 'failure', I think it will be okay. I don't need to blame God if I can't do something right."
"Hey, I'm not blaming God you know. And didn't I said 'the thing you most proud of'? Maybe math is not your most-proud-of stuff, that's why you see it differently."
"Then how about this, if you didn't have pride on anything you can do, you will never feel disappointed, right? Well, maybe no pride at all is not that good to, a little bit of everything is always needed."
"Okay, then?"
"Then, don't feel too proud on everything you're good at. You'll never be disappointed. And God will not test you, also. I know 'God's Test' is always hard. No cheatsheet, sudden announcement. All of the worst stuff you can thought of at the worst moment."
"Hmmm, you're right. That's an interesting way of thinking. It all came back to your way of seeing things, huh?"
"Maybe."
"Oh, come on, just give me one 'yes', or 'you're right', or whatever. It won't hurt"
"My 'Yes, you're right' is expensive."
