Couple days ago I got berated by my own negative thoughts resurfacing telling me my typical cartoon art style isn’t enough to guarantee me admission into another college (for clarification: I’m attending community college and would need to transfer down the line), so I said “alright bet” and started leveling up my realism skills. Huzza. Take that brain. You don’t truly know what your able to accomplish unless you push yourself out of that comfort zone and tackle new challenges. It may surprise you to learn you aren’t so bad as you thought >:3

The guinea pig photo I was using as reference didn’t show the animals legs….hence why in my art it’s just a floating mass of fur lol

As long as you don’t set unrealistically high standards haha #these were SO therapeutic to do because I didn’t have this pressure to create from scratch #spent so long in animation grind that I felt like it was requirement to make original shit 24/7 #so when I hit a roadblock of zero unique ideas I’d get so upset at myself #like ‘come on you’re supposed to be making things why aren’t you making things’#at least with realism it’s a tangible thing that I don’t need it manifest into existence #at least with photo references it’s a tangible pre-existing thing I don’t need to use all my brain power to manifest #kinda allowed me to realize I’m not limited to character stuff…..I’m free. I have da power :D #never thought I’d see the day when I was actually happy with realism or even proud of myself for it #anyways wtf why do these tags always have to be a little depressing that’s not the intended vibes #I like fish. Haruko looks more like a Gorillaz drawing then what I was going for and as for Chris I did the thing what I usually do when I draw jawlines and chins.....make it fucking uneven.

But my followers should be used to that by now, he looks cute though.
