Lazer Tag
Yu yelled as he hit the ground. It was all too dramatic, really. But it was Halloween and he managed to make a trip that the whole ‘investigation team’ had planned. They seemed to be under fire, and there was no way to tell for sure in the dark. He wanted to help, but he had no back up. They had been split up because of poor decision making. Damn. ‘Never let me be leader again,’ he thought to himself as he shifted the gun in his hands.
Yosuke’s breath was coming in more shallow than usual. He was really out of shape, huh… But, he had to be more effective than this. He stepped behind a wall, looking around it to spot any motion. “Go without you?” The brunette rolled his eyes and kept his place. “You need to get up, Yu,” he lowered his voice so he couldn’t be heard. “Damn, and I don’t know where Kanji or Teddie are.” He slid down the wall and took a quick moment to catch his breath. Lowering himself completely to the floor, Yosuke reached across the gap between them and took a hold of Yu’s arm, dragging him behind the safe-haven of the felt wall. “You didn’t need to be that dramatic, by the way,” he shook his head and looked around the corner again. “We’re dudes, dude. We can’t lose at laser tag to the girls—even if they are cheating by having Naoto. She actually knows how to use a gun.”
They were not going to lose to the girls team. “I didn’t come all the way out here for a shitty loss. Get into that leader role and win this.”
Yu never felt that there was anything wrong to add a little drama to the situation. "I felt that it was appropriate" he said despite how honest he was when he said it. There was a spark of pain in his right knee after slamming it into the corner of one of the brightly colored walls, becoming more vivid in color with the black lights filling the room. His attempt to hide from Chie's view turned out to be more harmful than beneficial.
"I think I saw the other two split off when Yukiko and Rise caught us at the center." Yu said as he looked around, quickly assessing the surroundings before helping Yosuke pull his weight into the safe area. Yu cradled the gun in his lap as he propped pulled the leg of his jeans up above his knee. "Naoto is sharp shooter and Kanji isn't exactly the best and blending in." He winced a little as he pushed his thumb gently against the purple-ing skin. It was just a bad hit, but nothing serious.
He let his back settle against the wall as he took the gun back into his hand, finger ready on the trigger. "We won't lose." Putting his weight on his left leg, he pulled himself up on his left leg before offer his hand to his friend. "Teddie can manage by himself. Are you ready to make those points back?"
