REMINISCING NEVER SEEMED to do the memories any justice. It doesn’t take you back to the place where it all began, it doesn’t bring back the smells or the tastes or the feelings. Nothing can replace the sensations of what once was. && as she stares out at the destruction that had been wrought, her home demolished under the destructive, catastrophic accident by ShinRa’s hands. It comes with a range of emotions: sorrow, anger, confusion, && guilt. These all have converged into a single detonation within her mind && built within her a desperation to fight back just as they’d always done. Her teeth grit, jaw setting in lieu, but it’s only a momentary thing. For she dares not let the other see her waver.
So she plays it off with that same kind demeanor, though dialed respectively back for the sake of all that had occurred. It’s fake, but who cares. Fear wreaks havoc through all who’d been subjected to the plate’s fall. A smile would do some good, at least for the children watching on. To stay strong.
“Yeah---even the bad times weren’t that bad anyway.” A huff of amusement finds her, hands lacing behind her back while a gaze of garnet befalls the younger. “But that just means we’ve got room to make new memories, right?”
A beautiful thought, even if it’s built upon the back of fallen dreams.
