Anyway, glad you liked the drabbles, Nell! It was a really strange and interesting challenge to get them all into exact round numbers!

thinking of the scene where Jaehaera sets up dinner for her mother and aunt and uncle, and then dances with Aemond, and Elayne dances with Helaena, and Helaena kisses Elayne, and the lyrics from "Take Me to Church" that say "No masters or kings / when the ritual begins / there is no sweeter innocence / than our gentle sin" Neither snake nor dragon is just so hozier and "Take me to church" coded in general "I worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies / I'll tell you my sins so you can sharpen your knife / Offer me that deathless death / Oh good God let me give you my life" when Elayne refuses to kneel to Rhaenyra, when Elmo takes his own sister's life "If the heavens ever did speak / she's the last true mouthpiece / and every Sunday's getting more bleak / a fresh poison each week" Helaena's visions! She knew what was going to happen! And couldn't change it! And after the war begins, another death every week! GAH, I think about your fic all the time

To add to the general Hozier vibes, I may or may not of been thinking of “If I was born as a blackthorn tree / I wanna be felled by you / held by you / fuel the pyre of your enemies“ from NFWMB when writing the portion after Helaena dies until Elayne does as well.

After the war begins, it is just Helaena and Elayne having the worst days of their lives.

Literally If you have any other thoughts I am all ears. I literally just stare into space and think about my own fic all the time.
