Praise once again have managed to step out of nowhere and get me on my feet whilst also completely sweeping me off them too.
Makes No Sense delves further into their own brand of melodic hardcore, packing as much energy and passion as 150 or so seconds will allow. The off kilter vocal melodies that weave in and out of what the guitars are doing reminds me in a way of some of the stuff coming out on Rev records in the 90′s. Not anything of a copy to even bring an example to mind, more being aware that the influence might be there.
Managing to make hardcore passionate without being too aggressive, making it intelligent whilst also retaining something akin to a pop sensibility. Making something lyrically relevant without sounding recycled. Any of these are hard tasks, and Praise have managed all three perfectly here. There are Seven songs coming out on this new release, and React! have never let me down so I have high hopes for the rest of Leave It All Behind.
