TW: cyberbullying talk

So I was thinking about the villain Prankster and how he is so outclassed as a "villain using silly things as weapons" type and I was like, wel what else could he be and it hit me. Theres that whole genre of youtubers whos whole identity is "I found this bad person on the internet and will proceed to make their life a living hell by tricking them" and I think that could be a fun inspiration. An interesting moral twist, considering those types usually think its okay because the victim is a bad person, and also parallels the concepts of journalism in a way.

it occurred to me Prankster oddly might work good as a villain in the new Superman show after enough setup perhaps. guy was an “influencer supervillain” before even social media was a thing which kinda fits the tone and subject matter.Ironically he’s easier to differentiate from modern Joker because his thing is branding and fame.

Two Superman villains I really wanna revamp for my world are Prankster and Obsession and I think theyd have really interesting interactions Prankster would be a really bad content creator, the type to do obnoxious pranks and harass vulnerable members of society for clout. He slowly ramps things up to criminal levels Meanwhile Obsession is a more vulnerable member of society, a conspiracy theorist becoming obsessed with Clark Kent? imagine Prankster following her around and making shit up to upset her, its a really interesting dynamic to me
