Brassy and dry to bright, shinny and healthy silver . . . . . Reposted from @jackmartincolorist This beautiful client came from Texas to get her hair colored by me. For this color transformation, I lightened the brassy ends using @pravana pure light ultra lightener with 20 vol for about 120 minutes using the backcombing technique in foils and used pravana chromasilk 1/2 6.8 + 1/2 7.11 + one inch of ash blue additive mixed with 10 vol on the backcombed hair brassy areas as low lights in foils, when I reached a very light pale yellow blonde I rinsed the low lights foils first then the blonde foils. For toning, I used pravana 1/2 10.07 + 1/2 10.08 mixed with zero lift developer on the whole head for 30 minutes. Cut layers with face-framing, used pravana hydra pearl mist as a heat protectant to style with 1.1/2 inch curling iron on 360°F heat settings. TOTAL TIME: 8 hours. Important note: as you see in the video I added some extra silver strands to the dark salt and pepper areas to brighten them and make her hair more glamorous, she will need to retouch her extra silver strands twice a year only but she won’t have a line of demarcation because of the blending technique I used.
