Sayyiduna Abdullah Ibn Abbas (Radi Allahu Anhuma) has reported that the Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said, “Allah said: I swear by My Honour and Magnificence, I will surely avenge the cruel sooner or later. The cruel are given temporary respite

Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash’ari (Radi Allahu Anhu) narrated that the Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said,

“Verily, Allah gives respite to the cruel, until, when He grabs him, then He does not release him.”

After saying this, the Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) recited verse 102 of Surah Hud:

وكذلك أخذ ربك إذا أخذ القرى وهي ظالمة إن أخذه أليم شديد

And similar is the seizure of your Lord when He seizes the townships upon their injustice; indeed His seizure is painful, severe.
