I grew up splitting time between Miami Florida with my mother and Panama City Florida with my father. I called Panama City (the Lynn Haven area in particular) home for many years of my life, so to see the apocalyptic devastation that Hurricane Michael has inflicted on my city breaks my heart. This has been recorded as the 3rd strongest hurricane to touch land in US history and the sheer destruction validates that statement. Thank God I have been able to confirm the safety of many of my family members and friends. Unfortunately so many of them are now without homes. In this time we must all come together and help those who can not help themselves. Myself along with several friends will be putting together some sort of relief efforts to help rebuild the city that helped build us. I am absolutely heartbroken. The town I grew up in has been essentially demolished. Videos show utter devastation...buildings just flattened. We grew up with hurricanes...NOTHING was ever like this. I always wanted to take my kids back to see where I grew up. What's left of it now?!? So many friends are worried about loved ones that stayed behind...I feel so helpless. I've caught myself heading for the car multiple times, literally ready to drive 900 miles to PCB.
