I'm always amazed by people who have never raised chick nor child yet have ALL of the answers when it comes to child rearing. Not merely an opinion, but ALL of the answers. HAVE SEVERAL SEATS. I can't tell a drug addict how to recover, because I have never been one. I CAN tell you how to overcome homelessness - been there, done that. I CAN tell you how to rise above domestic violence - been there, done that. I CAN tell you about the loss of a child through miscarriage. I CAN tell you how to move from bitter to better - I live this daily. I CAN tell you how to find your purpose and passionately pursue it. I CAN SHARE with you how I have raised my children, but would NEVER TELL you how you should raise yours. THEY ARE YOURS. See the difference? YOU DON'T HAVE THE ANSWERS FOR A PROBLEM YOU HAVE NEVER CONFRONTED. YOU MIGHT HAVE ADVICE AND AN OPINION, BUT YOU DON'T HAVE EXPERIENCE. Jesus has been in heavens for YEARS watching mankind. Yet, God sent him to EARTH so that he could be "tempted in every way, just as we are--yet he did not sin." So, unless your name is Jesus, I might be open to your opinion. But, if you aren't Jesus, then we can't have a conversation about the "wisdom" you have to dispense about something you haven't experienced. Why? Because there are FAR TOO MANY WHO HAVE RAISED CHILDREN with REAL ANSWERS. That being said: I am starting a Facebook Group, based on the book "Prayers for Prodigals: 90 Days of Prayer for Your Child" It will be a private group dedicated to prayer for ANY child in your life. Son, Daughter, Nephew, Niece, Brother, Sister, God Child, Student - whomever you'd like prayer for. It will be a safe place to share and to hear from others who ARE or HAVE experienced the same things as you. The Facebook Group will go live on Friday, May 1 and our 90 day prayer journey will commence on Mother's Day - May 10th.
