@thewholecrew: [ENVY] for my muse to see yours dancing with someone else / grant & o
the club's atmosphere thrummed through octavia's veins. every base drop, every flicker of the neon lights that flooded the dance floor fuel her reckless freedom. with a night off from school, work and mom, she's exactly where she wants to be. giving into the thrill of the music she swears she can feel pulsing inside of her as she dances, loving the way she always feels. powerful, wild, and completely in control of nothing but her own wild spirit.
glossy emerald hues catch grant's gaze from the shadows, her gaze lighting with mischief. they didn't come together, but she's not surprised to find him here when she oh so casually mentioned going dancing on her night off. his jaw was clenched tight, eyes dark with something she eagerly relished—jealously, heartbreak, obsession. this was one of her favorite games with him. she loved the control she had over him, the rush of knowing she could shatter him or keep him hanging on her every move.
but he's a little too late. octavia's already been here for hours it seems. dozens of drinks downed. shots. a few lines in the bathroom. and, she's found herself someone to dance with. octavia spun with a tall, charismatic man, her body flowing freely to the music. her head tilted back, hair spilling around her shoulders as the tequila made her head fuzzy, intoxicated with all the drinks and the thrill of this moment. when the tall stranger spun her, her back pressed against him, hips grinding deliberately as her eyes once again found grant's through the crowd. her heart fluttered with a wicked thrill. eyes sparkling as she caught his stare, daring him silently.
her heart pounded with anticipation, a devilish smirk lacing her lips as she felt her partner press her back against him. seductive hues rake over grant, a brow lifting, daring him to interrupt her as her hips moved with chaotic rhythm. before grant could give in, octavia ran a hand back through her damp tussled hair, before she spun once more, away from her dance partner and into the wild crowd, daring either man to follow.
The Old Guard Discussion
I want to have a discussion about the old guard and their life pre-immortality anyone in?
(we can’t forget booker)
So, what I think about nicky and Joe's life
pre immortality.
Nicky:
For nicky to be a priest he joined the church young, he was either orphaned as a child, his family was poor or was the second son of his family.
Nicky was taught not to want or complain. To live minimalistic. Which is why he wears clothes similar to Joe.
Nicky would have been conditioned to reject and hate anything and anyone that wasn't Catholic.
Joe:
Joe was from a merchant family and seems to have been devoutly Muslim or at least his family was. Being able to be an artist and merchant meant his family was rich, if Joe was among the oldest of the family he would have been married by or around his 20s. If he was among the youngest he would have been given more freedom and have less or a requirement to be married.
Post immortality
Joe and nicky would have hated each in the begin. Nicky would have probably gone back to Italy with others. It probably 1 centuries before they full stopped hating each other and another century after that before they fell in love. And I doubt it was easy in the beginning nicky being Brought up in the church so he would have had a lot of internal conflict with his feelings.
