July 14th, 2016 - one of my favorite Feats of Strength
Throwback to April 18th, 2016 - finally found Tollifer’s Last Stand :)
Oh, sure, don’t mind the headless torso just chilling in the corner of the screen; it’s fine.
What did I read pre-blog?
What did I read pre-blog?
I’ve been doing some maintenance on my master spreadsheet. It contains a record of every book I’ve read since 2007 and some from earlier. I used to write capsule reviews on it – I was able to refer back to my one on Shirley Jackson’s We Have Always Lived in the Castle just the other day during Shirley Jackson Reading Weekso they do come in useful! Once I started my blog in September 2008 I…

Zombie apocalypse
This dream dates back to when I was still in... gymnasium?
Anyway, this seemed like just another day in my hometown, except it was a medieval setting and while most buildings looked the same, everyone had a blade of some kind on themselves. Even the priest I was talking to had a dagger somewhere on him. I believe I was equipped with a short sword.
I was walking down the village's street, heading towards the local shop to get some supplies and talking to the local priest. You could pretty much get everything in that shop, since it was a baker's, general store and candy maker's all 3 with their stalls and displays in one, large hall. Windows and doors had metal grates in them, and were pretty large, too. All one one wall. We enter it, and start shopping. There was a tall, muscular guy with shoulders wide enough to work as a wall against sun, wind and rain for most people. He was carrying a broadsword by his side.
Suddenly, the shop gets attacked by zombies, but not the infected "one scratch means you're gonna be a green rotten walking corpse in the next 12 hours" but cursed "If they actually bite you and transfer some of the curse onto you, you're instantly going to become one of them" type. Despite the shop keepers being armed with a large, long-ass breadstick, a candy cane the size of a battle axe and a cleaver, supported by me, the bulky guy (god, he had a loud, deep, booming voice) and the priest (Who was just a preacher, no magic involved) we were able to hold our ground against them for quite a long time. Sadly, at one point a knocked down zombie grabbed my ankle, and the broad guy stabbed his sword through the chest of the zombie that was holding me, activating another part of the curse - damage dealt was returned to the striker, causing the big guy to grab his heart and fall on his knees, yelling in pain, while I got cursed. Whoever made the zombies was a real son of a bitch making anti-saving traps like that.
As soon as I started turning into a zombie, a bright light shone out from me and some deity looking like Tesu, the god from from Sudeki emerged from me, said something about me being the chose one, restoring the peace to the land and so on. Then, with a radial pulse, all the zombies in town were cured, and the conventionally dead were revived. "Tesu" diappeared, and a fiery version of him merged from me (how did I have 2 gods in me anyway?) and without a word, bestowed a shining set of armour, a long, very light white sword and a huge, easily carriable shield. Each of those was supposed to protect me from the curse, but only offered as much as any other armour when it came to physical protection. I believe I was also granted some way to lift the curse from zombies I face, but only one at a time.
That's all I can recall about it right now. It may be updated if I remember any details.
Interview for a teacher's assistant position in a preschool today! Feeling somewhat nervous because it's a position that I really want and that I've been trying to get all summer.
On the other hand, after the interview, date with the Babe. Whoop! Kind of excited for that. Going to get noms and probably head back to my house. Then going to a dinner. Day's already planned out c:
My mosquito bites are so freaking itchy. I can't stand it..AHH! And it looks like it's going to rain today.
