hi! i was wondering how you learned to make themes? i've been learning html and css on codeacademy, but making an actual theme still seems really complicated :/

heya!! i started from the codecademy too so you’re on the right path babe. i’ve finished the course like almost two years ago but never got to make a single theme for 1,8 years (not counting my current theme that was made from scratch) bc i simply had no inspiration/ideas?? knowing how to code is one thing and finding your muse is completely another. you’re not hopeless you just have to find your own style, go through popular theme makers’ codes and learn from them, maybe start from customizing and improving other ppl’s theme to fit your blog (ive been doing it since i started coding u can see the results here here and here and yes i do have my prev blog designs saved for ref shhh) you always start from small things, what’s important is that you dont give it up and keep improving yourself!! carry a small notebook for ideas, learn jquery and im sure u’ll become an html star p soon ♥
