“Precious to Me” By Jennifer Sanchez This illustration piece is based on the ongoing harp seal slaughter over in Canada. A mother harp seal and her pup are very close as can be. They watch what mom does and baby follows just like the babies, children and their mothers we see daily in our lives. Especially if they are our own as well which we can see how tired we are from being with our little ones. But watching them learning and smiling is worth while. Bonds like that are precious and it’s sad if we can enjoy that but never see it again for this harp seal family. A mother would go to many lengths to protect their children. But this pair can’t and ended up dying or turning into the fur objects you see or even wear.
