peso sometimes does internal checkups(especially with kwazii who has on occasion sustained injury to his stomach lining from eating things he shouldnt)
problem is kwazii has figured out he can feign injury to get a friend really easily (the mask slips almost immediately but peso is a bit oblivious)

Kwazii may have gotten a little too silly
headcanon of the day by our beloved @roseytoesy (the second comic was drafted by them too <3), peso will headbonk people when he wants to be stored but doesnt have the energy to ask; its a way for him to communicate without the awkwardness of verbally requesting it. it makes barnacles and kwazii especially melt every time he does it-

Kwazii youre a shit liar and you know it
from discord rambles: kwazii is at first kinda averse to the whole "eating people" thing, but instincts still get bad and the crew can tell its starting to weigh on him, so eventually peso sucks it up, warns the captain hes gonna try and help kwaz, runs off. barnacles is basically backup if anything goes wrong, but as is very obvious hes not actually needed- peso is more than fine and kwazii is,, uh,, content lol

Do you know the above and beyond series? If so, what are your thoughts on octo-agent noms?
I do know above and beyond! I havent watched a whole lot of it cuz i dont really like the pacing/feel as much but i love some of the new characters (paani my beloved)
Paani and kwazii have a dynamic that i feel would lend itself so well to both casual and protective noms honestly,, both of them just wanna keep people safe and also any excuse to get the upperhand on the other is quick to be taken- i imagine they would playfight constantly about who gets to store the other and probably have some sort of tally system to know when they need to get back at the other
but also NATQUIK AND JACKIE(calico jack)!!! dude they both spent years stranded alone in the middle of nowhere they have got to be touchstarved to a horrific degree. i think they would see a similar soul and never separate. just one inside the other at any chance they get (they take turns so they both get to feel equally cared for)
barnacles tries to call in for a report and just finds a black screen and rumbly purrs from all around; just has to accept the fact its cuddle time and hes not going to get any work out of them for a while--
