Didn’t intend on making a Balan Wonderworld oc, but the style has been kinda fun to mess with, hee ha!
A ballerina that can control fairies of hers using choreography/body movements :)
idle animation for Preema I'm not sure I'll be able to use! (because i wasn't thinking about how you can't put gifs into unity T_T)
YOUR DESIGNS FOR THOSE GUYS RULE SO BAD....
I canr choose a character to ask more about so I'll just ask about the two inspectors!!! Interested in themm...
THANK YOU MUCH!!!!!
Detective Preema is a stoic, no-nonsense type detective. She's an Indian immigrant to France, where the story takes place. She has a law degree. She's a strategist and an intellectual. She loves to generate a complex web of theories and connections inside her mind, though sometimes her tangent theories prevent her from seeing the more obvious big-picture things right in front of her.
Bertie (Gilberte) is Preema's detective assistant. Her approach to her work and really everything is very casual. People find her easy to talk to, and she has a lot of charisma. She's Canadian with dual French citizenship. She worked blue collar repair jobs of various focus in the past, and met Preema as the handyman of the building that her detective's office is in. She's been around a lot of different people in her line of work and is good at making educated guesses about and "reading" other people. She has a love for comic strips. She isn't afraid to make a stupid joke.
A classic "opposites attract" duo, the two tend to pick up where the others' flaws leave off. Folks oft find Preema intimidating or intrusive, but most seem to find Bertie genial and charming. Bertie became Preema's assistant after she accidentally got entangled in a crime involving the office building. Preema found her help extremely complimentary and against her own pride, asked Bertie to help her out several more times. Eventually, she got the idea that Preema really wanted her around to assist with cases. Its not Bertie's usual gig at all, but it's always new and interesting so she enjoys it. She also likes to try and get through Preema's cool collected exterior with her warm personality. Preema doesn't like to admit her soft spot for Bertie, because shes so obsessed with seeming "professional" all of the time. The two tend to bicker and argue pretty easily because of their differences. They can get annoyed with one anothers' approaches to a case. Preema is moody and quick to get snippy. Preema is more focused on generating motives and analyzing connections between suspects, making sure that stories line up, and Bertie is more tactile, much more likely to make small observations about people and pick up objects as possible evidence.
⏫ A fun game mechanic I have planned here, as I want to highlight the detectives' differences as people as part of the investigation, is Preema and Gilberte having their own inventories and case notes, and both of their input building up the suspect profiles. I feel like the things that characters would choose to pick up or what they find notable to write down about a location or person can tell you a lot about them without saying anything directly.
