Nurse Me

Even More DrabblesLeave a “Nurse Me” in my ask, and I’ll write a drabble about my character healing yours.

There was no way May would ever accept loosing Alex. Phil would never forgive her. She would do everything in her power to make sure that Alex was 100% before she would move from this room. May’s eyes hovered over the younger woman’s wounds. Some wouldn’t take long to heal, but others, a little longer. There was nothing that would risk her death, but a few things worried May, it could effect the way Alex walked or shot, and Melinda would do everything she could to restore the younger woman.

Clint never thought he’d be any good at the settling down and having a family thing.  He needed to be different, he craved adrenaline and danger and trusted only a few because of it.  It was just like he wasn’t hardwired to work the 9 to 5 and wear a tie.  He only owned like one anyway. Half the time, he didn’t even sleep in a bed on the ground, but that was another issue entirely.

But, those unorthodox needs aside, laying in bed next to Alex and even just pretending to be normal for a few hours was becoming his new favorite thing.  He yawned with an arm tucked under his head and his other one wrapped around her.  It was comfortable, quiet and safe, for once.

He cracked an eye open as he felt her hand on his body, specifically a curved scar above his hip.  ”Got that on my first assignment.  I guess I’ve been causing trouble since the beginning.  Obviously you never woulda guessed.”  He added a smirk just to go with it.

Lady Simmons traversed the edge of what had previously been a battlefield. The bodies had since been removed and she had attempted to treat the ones she could, but she had run out of supplies like willow bark and there was simply nothing in the area that she could find to match up to it. 

The sound of bushes moving her head shot up and she eyes the patch of greenery. "Show yourself," she demanded in a high, clear, voice. "I mean you no harm, I am but a healer."

Clint hated Canada, for the record. He'd been born and raised in Illinois so he knew a thing or two about the cold, and he'd been to Russia, the motherland of winter, but somehow Canada seemed so much worse. So much more desolate and miserable and awful. By the time he made it to the coordinates Coulson had sent him, he was cranky and just wanted to get somewhere warm.

He identified himself to the giant gun and breathed a sigh of relief when the door slid open. "It's about damn time. I really hate this cloak and dagger shit," he groused as he made his way inside the base and shrugged off his gear. "Mother fuck, it's cold."

Of all people, Alex had to have the most experience with it, but Clint still didn’t like leaving early in the morning on a last minute assignment.  He’d murmured a goodbye, but he didn’t wake her—he didn’t want to risk it.  Instead, he left a couple of notes on the fridge.  Well, drawings.  

There were three of them—one was a rough and hurried drawing of the Avengers as stick figures, including Hulk, but the one up above it was a figure with sunglasses and a bow, standing on top of a building in a very heroic pose.  At least for a stick figure.  The last one was a sloppy drawing of the world and two figures standing on top holding hands.

Off to save the world.
