I enjoyed Prevenge. Faced with the prospect of single motherhood due to a climbing accident, Ruth got commands from her fetus demanding vengeance upon every member of that group. So far as homicidal revenge fantasy premises went, it was refreshing. I liked the (possibly inadvertant) shout-out to "Embryodead" by ::wumpscut:: with a disgusting, vile, bitter fetus percolating away in the womb corrupting Mom. I suppose the fact baby came out "perfectly normal" means it was all on Ruth, but was she killing before baby? Did that voice exist prior to the fetus? Were the pains that drove her to complete the fatal missions coincidental? I quite like the reality where there are several "no" answers to those questions. Simple madness makes for a very dull life, on and off screen.
