Feeling somewhat reassured by statistics...
Still awake at 3:30 am working on the same case study I've been working on all day
cries
Seeing all these people on social media like "omg first day of high school or omg #sophomore year" and I'm like damn I'm old bUT THEN I REALIZE THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE DONE WITH SCHOOL WHO VIEW ME THE SAME WAY goodbye
HOE. LEE. SHIT. I AM GOING TO BE JUGGLING A LOT FOR THE NEXT FEW WEEKS.
SHADOWING 3 DOCTORS. VOLUNTEERING IN A HOSPITAL. 2 CLASSES. NEW RESEARCH PROJECT WITH DIFFERENT PARTNERS INVOLVING TECHNIQUES THAT I’VE NEVER DONE BEFORE. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
BUT I’M SO FUCKING EXCITED!
one non-scientific thing that studying for the mcat has been teaching me for the last couple of months has been learning how to say no, especially to plans that sound really fun and great. so i'm lucky to have some friends who've been there/done that (not just with MCAT but LSAT and others) who will invite me to do something regardless, and if i have to decline they're really gracious about it.
and then there are the kind of friends who will roll their eyes or say, "you can take a dinner break!" (which if they knew anything about my study habits it's that i am constantly taking little breaks so i can't afford even bigger breaks being outside) or "you're always studying, you should do something fun to reward yourself!" and i love em to death but i also want to put my hands on their shoulders and shake them with the intensity of all my future aspirations that depends on this damn test
I have so much work to get done, but no motivation right now.
It now gets on my nerves when people use the word "germ" instead of something like "bacteria," "virus," or "pathogenic microorganism."
