Ongoing Free Beer Legal Case
Simon Atkins, the entrepreneurial fellow who offered "free beer" in return for his Furniture Shop customers volunteering to purchase a drip mat, has come into the legal fold. Was he pushed or did he fall? Because his recent application for a Premises Licence (the required licence to sell alcohol and to provide regulated entertainment) has been approved by his local authority, the way he will run the (now legal) premises however remains a bit unclear. Simon says, "Nothing has changed" (other than the legality of the premises) so that statement suggest he will go on giving free beer away and inviting contributions for a drip mat. His licence also stipulates that he can only "sell" alcohol (or Drip mats, how confusing) via waitress/waiter service, which suggest his customers must be seated to enjoy the sip of a pint of ale. As if running a pub (licensed outlet) is not difficult enough! Good luck Simon, we at Inn-Dispensable are all for innovation, lets hope however hundreds of pubs do not start selling tables and chairs for free providing customers pay £200 a pint!!
