Vom 17.-20. Januar fand wieder die Fashion Week in Berlin statt. Gezeigt wurden die Trends für die Herbst/Winter 2017/18 Saison. Besucht habe ich die Messen – Premium, Seek und Bright. Was kommt? Was bleibt? Was geht? Was sagt Ihr dazu?
Was kommt?
Was bleibt?
Was geht?
This year the Fashion Week in Berlin took place from January 17 to 20 showing all the trends for the coming fall/winter season 2017/18. I visited the Premium, Seek and Bright fair. What comes? What remains? What’s out? That’s what I was interested in too. Moreover I asked myself “does fashion need to be truly practical and suitable for everyday?” At the Fashion Week there seemed to be a disparity of opinions. On the show stages you could see a lot that is not at all suitable for everyday office life whereas the mainstream fashion collections focus on safety and are almost a little boring. What do you think?
What comes? Opulent materials such as brocades, jacquards, tweeds and shimmering materials for dresses, skirts, pants but also shoes are seen a lot. To make this fashion style wearable, brands such as Alysi & IQ+Berlin make it a sportive way. Sportive cooleness meets baroque!
What remains? Velvet fabrics are omnipresent! In combination with leo prints and floral designs as seen at Gestuz. Bomber jacket styles are still popular, however this time with sportive cuffs and made of jacquard. Pleats are now for palazzo pants or lace skirts as seen at Alysi. As already for the spring/summer collection I liked best the one of Alysi. With regard to color you can see a lot of grey, blue, black, red, orange and berry shades in combination with khaki at the fair.
What’s out? Check fabrics were not present on the fair. But be sure you will see this classic fabric also in the next season.

Augmented reality becomes fashionable - Until not too long ago augmented and virtual reality had an aura of science fiction and fantasy. But ever since Pokemon Go appeared, augmented reality gained a lot of mass appeal. The question is: Which aspects of life will be altered by augmented reality next? Check out some examples of what’s been happening in fashion in this context.

This Baum und Pferdgarten sequin number at Premium Berlin is a great update for the commercial sports-inspired trend, featuring sequins on top of a silk print for a textured and iridescent look.
