They’re celebrating something. She’s forgotten exactly what because it’s her fourth glass of wine and everyone else is preoccupied with something or other. She just knows that there is quite a lot of people in her home and Dom has taken over being host. Radana gave up about an hour and a half ago, reaching her limit for social gatherings. Heading to the hallway, wine glass in hand, she thinks about how soft her bed must feel right now. Or a warm shower. She tips over for a moment, leaning on the wall to steady herself and sighs out. A hand grasps her wrist then and she whips her head around, already furious. And it’s him. Of course. She scoffs, tearing herself from his grip. “You’re wanted elsewhere, Dominik.”“People are going home,” he murmurs and she hates him for how patient he sounds. “Let me help.”It’s been affecting her too much lately. Despite how much he hasn’t been around, his emotions come off as waves, concentrated and forceful. It’s supposed to be evened out but it doesn’t feel that way recently. She had given her emotions away to the dust of the earth but he offers his own. Dominik and his bleeding heart. “Help with what, Dominik?” she asks, taking another sip of her wine and realizes that she’s finished it. “Go, be with our friends. I need sleep.”“Radana---”Cutting her eyes to him, it’s quiet then, there in that hallway. She doesn’t want to hear it anymore. She’s tired of this world. The routines. It’s the same purpose. It dawns upon her that this is the longest he’s stayed with her at a time. Usually, he’d run off, hide away for a couple years and come back. He’s staying because of---She steps closer. He steps back. Another step but he’s still this time, looking down at her with kind eyes. Too kind for what she’s done. Will do. Leaning up, she kisses him, gently and tiredly. As if it’s a resignation of some kind. She doesn’t give him the chance to respond, moving away and patting him on the chest before walking down the hallway. “Good night, Dominik.”It felt more like a goodbye.
